I grew up listen to WABC and enjoyed hearing happy, humorous voices playing great music and keeping me company all the time. Dan Ingram was a radio genius. His quick wit kept us laughing all the time. There was no anger, vulgarity, smart ass talk, degrading comments, or anything that would insult his audience. Radio was bright, fun and an uplifting way to get through your day!
Back in 1968, you would hear a live announcer identify the station twice an hour. This was a staff announcer who was in the studio assigned only to ID the station. WABC's studio consisted of one air personality, and engineer and staff announcer. WABC eliminated the staff announcer after 1968.
