One of the most frustrating things about Windows 10 is that it seems to have a mind of it's own. It pushes updates through every now and then and automatically shuts down your computer. I run Edgewater Gold Radio on a computer that uses Windows 10. I've checked off "No automatic updates" but this software seems ignore these commands. There aren't as many updates as there were when the software was first introduced. I do get a message indicating that there is a new update. It gives you the option to install it right away and restart your computer or pick a day and time to install it. This option never works for me. Usually I would choose to install the update in the evening or early morning hours but sometimes this option doesn't work.
Yesterday, I received a message about 4:30pm while I was voice tracking. I opted to reschedule the update until early the next morning. I completed voice tracking and headed over to the beach.
to do my daily walk. I put on my headphones and turned on my station and as I began walking I noticed that the Auto DJ was playing. (That's the Live 365 backup system for Edgewater Gold Radio.) The reason for this was that Microsoft installed the update and the computer shut down. I had to go back to restart the computer. Luckily there are no listeners lost because the backup system kicks in immediately but it is very frustrating that my computer shut down during prime listening time!
