Abbey Road to be Re- Released
Here's the latest from RTT News regarding the re-release of Abbey Road.
Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr has confirmed the band will be releasing a special, 50th anniversary edition of their seminal, 1969 album, Abbey Road.
Remastered by Giles Martin, the expanded box-set will include multiple demos and alternate takes on the original tracks.
"I've loved all the re-releases because of the remastering," Starr shared in a recent interview with Billboard. "You can hear the drums, which got dialed down in the old days."
Meanwhile, Starr has embarked upon a headlining tour across North America alongside his All-Starr Band.
Having completed its Japanese leg earlier this year, the tour headed back to the U.S in honor of the 30th anniversary of the band's first-ever tour in July of 1989.
"Somebody went to my lawyer in L.A... and asked if I'd like to put a band together and go on tour. I don't know what happened -- I said yes! And then I realized I didn't have a band so I thought, 'Well, I'm just gonna call up old friends and they can sing and I'll sing and we'll all play together. That's how the first one got started," Starr said to Billboard.
Kicking off its U.S leg last week, the tour will come to a close on September 1 at the Greek Theater in L.A.
