Summer Brings a "Lull" In Radio Listening
I've been running my internet radio station, Edgewater Gold Radio for over 17 years and I've noticed the same pattern every year. There are two times a year when my listeners drop off a little. The Christmas season and in Summer. Why? The answer is quite simple. During the Christmas season, people are hustling around shopping and also listening to all Christmas radio stations, so there will be a drop during December.
Since many listeners listen while working, Summer is a time for relaxation and vacation. Many people are off of work during July and August so radio listening will fall off a bit during these months. This is a normal occurrence and nothing to be concerned about.
Come September, listeners will pick up again.
