Bruce Springsteen doesn't mince words when it comes to Trump. Here's what he said according to RTT Music News.

In a highly critical interview, Bruce Springsteen described President Donald Trump as a "threat to our democracy."

Referring to the fate of the United States if Trump gets re-elected in November, Springsteen said, "I don't know if our democracy could stand another four years of his custodianship."

Asked if he feels optimistic or pessimistic about what's going on out on U.S. streets in the wake of George Floyd's death in police custody, music icon said, "I believe that our current president is a threat to our democracy. He simply makes any kind of reform that much harder."

The singer-songwriter aired his political and social views in an interview with The Atlantic 20 years after writing "American Skin (41 Shots)," a powerful song about the death of a black man in police brutality.

Springsteen said he also see positive sides in each of these circumstances.

"I think we've got hope for a vaccine. I think any time there is a 50-foot Black Lives Matter sign leading to the White House, that's a good sign," he said. "And the demonstrations have been white people and black people and brown people gathering together in the enraged name of love. That's a good sign."
