Cher@The Loneliest Elephant Trailor

An emotional trailer for Cher's upcoming documentary based on Kaavan, an elephant who was called the "world's loneliest elephant," has been released.

The documentary, titled Cher & The Loneliest Elephant, tells the emotional story of Kaavan and how the legendary singer fought to relocate him from a Zoo in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The documentary will premiere April 22 on Paramount+ before airing on the Smithsonian Channel on May 19.

The documentary tells the story of Kavaan, an Asian elephant, who had been in captivity in a zoo in Islamabad for nearly 35 years. Kavaan's companion, a female elephant named Saheli, died in 2012. Since then Kavaan has been the "world's loneliest elephant."

"Elephants are just like we are: They are so family oriented and emotional. And so, I wanted to free him," Cher says in the trailer.

The trailer features several experts explaining the horrible life Kaavan led. The trailer also shows the efforts taken to relocate Kaavan from the Pakistan zoo and to a new sanctuary in Cambodia.
