Elton John Credits Zoom for Staying Sober During the Pandemic

Legendary musician Elton John has credited video conferencing app Zoom for helping him stay sober during COVID-19 lockdown.

Speaking to Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle on their first "Archewell Audio" podcast on Tuesday, John says he doesn't know what he would have done had it not been for Zoom.

"I'm a recovering alcoholic, so I have an AA meeting from this house every Sunday. I connect with my friends who I've known for about 30 years in the program, and that's great," John said.

He added, ""And if it hadn't been for Zoom, I don't know what I'd have done, I really don't -- without Zoom, it's been, it's been a lifesaver."

John entered his 30th year of abstinence in 2020 after giving up alcohol and illegal substances in 1990 following years of abuse.
