It's Christmas Music Season on the Radio
Many stations have started their Christmas programming already. It seems to get earlier and earlier every year. This year has been an unprecedented year for everyone and we all need some holiday cheer.
While I was growing up radio stations would start playing some Christmas music after Thanksgiving and increase the number of Christmas songs in the rotation as we got closer and closer to Christmas Day. There were no radio stations programming only Christmas music back in the 60s and 70s. I enjoyed the holiday music mixed in with the regular music.
Edgewater Gold Radio does it the old fashioned way. We will start airing a small amount of holiday music on Thanksgiving Day and increase the holiday music rotation as the days and weeks go by. The week before Christmas there will be lots of holiday songs in the rotation. The oldies will continue to play during this time as will our specialty shows. On Christmas Eve, we will begin our 48 hours of Christmas and air only Christmas Music for the next two days.
