Chinese Viewers of Bohemian Rhapsody are Angered By Film Censorship

Here's the latest from RTT News regarding the censorship of Bohemian Rhapsody. Article provided my RTT news. Bohemian Rhapsody has premiered in China, although censors have cut more than two minutes of LGBT content from the film. The biopic about Queen and its frontman Freddie Mercury hit the Chinese market last Friday. However, according to Chinese moviegoers, key scenes about Mercury's sexuality, including a same-sex kiss, have been cut altogether. Scenes that were deleted include one in which Mercury reveals to his wife that he is not heterosexual. A scene in which Mercury tells the band that he has AIDS has been muted. Edgewater Gold Radio - Filling The Oldies Gap

Many radio stations around the country and even around the world are no longer playing real oldies. By real oldies I mean music from the 50s 60s 70s 80s and even some 90s. First oldies stations started dropping 50s, then early sixties now oldies have "morphed" into what is now considered classic hits. Very few 60s and much less of the 70s. 80's is the main decade for this format. All of the great music we baby boomers grew up with seems to be falling by the wayside. I understand that as boomers get older and time passes, newer more current music is preferred by today's generations. The roots of Rock n Roll began in the 50s and carries through til today. Edgewater Gold Radio keeps all of thos

Keeping Things Flowing

A few weeks ago, the computer that ran Edgewater Gold Radio experienced an unexpected fatal crash. I noticed pauses and hesitations in the programming. I checked and noticed that the automation programming was freezing and in some cases stopping altogether. I decided to start the backup PC and run the programming from there. In the meantime, I tried to diagnose the main computer. After attempting repairs, and working with a tech team, I realized that the only solution was to re-install the operating system. I decided not to do this because I was having minor problems with this computer since the time I purchased it. I wound up buying a new computer. I had to restore the EDGEWATER GOLD RADIO

Getting Internet Radio Exposure

I read many posts where new internet radio programmers wonder why their stations have 1 or 2 listeners or in some cases, none. Internet radio unlike local terrestrial radio is a tiny spec in a sea of thousands and thousands of stations and also many music services such as Spotify or Pandora. Growing an audience is a very slow process. First you must get your site listed in as many internet directories as possible. As you go through this process, you may realize that not all sites will accept your station but keep plugging on. Make sure you provide the streaming URL for your station. The URL that automatically starts your stream not the one that brings up a player. Also provide an accurate

A Very Challenging Week For Edgewater Gold Radio

I have been mentioning in my blog posts during this past week about a major computer breakdown. Edgewater Gold Radio's main computer failed this week. My technical support company spent 15 hours trying to repair it but no luck! My stress level began to elevate during the day when there was no progress made. I began to notice audio dropouts while monitoring the station. The screen would temporarily freeze pausing all programming. I activated our backup computer and this is where we are right now. I haven't decided whether or not I will attempt to repair it but I did I decide to purchase a new PC. The reason is that my main PC had been giving be problems since the day I purchased it. When th

A Confusing Situation

Life and technology is becoming more and more complicated. There are more and more ways to listen to online radio. You can listen directly from your computer, Amazon Echo Device and internet radio as well as on many many apps. Lots of online listening is done on our cellphones. Bluetooth has become a large part of our lives and enables us to listen on many wireless devices. I listen on wireless headphones as well as through my car speakers via a bluetooth transmitter. This leads me to the situation that occurred yesterday. I monitor my station Edgewater Gold Radio as much as I can. Yesterday, I was in Starbucks having some coffee and listening to my station. Suddenly the audio dropped. It st
